In order to be able to take the intense climbing, it is important that one would develop his abdominal muscles. It is these muscles that will help one be able to force himself up while he is scaling a wall.

Also, vaulting techniques will be taught because one will be jumping over things a lot when he is free running. If one is a beginner, he must first start by jumping over small things first. As his training advances, then he can use his hands to try to push himself to jump over a taller object.
