Do You Require a Gym Pass to keep Fit?

By Robt Eckhart

If you don't have a gym membership there are still plenty of ways to stay fit. A gym can be costly and busy, and not to mention you usually have to sign some type of agreements. The worst parts about gyms are the staff members who annoy you constantly and try to advertise their gym's services to you like a cars sales rep. Now you can learn some easy workout routines that you can easily do at home in the comfort of your own home! You may be limited in the muscle building department, but you can easily lose fat and tone up.

Body Weight Training

Body weight training is where you only use the weight of your body for exercises, which means no dumbbells or bars whatsoever. They are more beneficial then you might first think. Many people only workout this way and get ripped and toned fast. Without weights you tend to do more repetitions and less rest, which means a higher intensity cardio session that burns fat fast. Aside from running and jump rope, some exercises to try are:

* Dips - You can perform dips simply with just a stable chair, stair step, or basically any area that allows you to dip you body down far enough. They also put tension on your core and shoulders.

* Pushups - Pushups can be performed in different ways to target specific areas. By closing your hands together you will use more of your shoulders and upper back region. Close hand pushups are great not only for your pectorals, but your biceps as well. Close hand, incline, and decline pushups are also available to you. Pushups have been used for years by athletes as a fixed part of their training regime to work the whole body.

* Pull-Ups - although you require a bar for these, they are relatively easy to find and do in any park or playground. The extra effort will be worth it with pull-ups though You can alter your grip to wider, for working your back more, to narrower for using your biceps more. The bar may also be used to work your abs by doing hanging leg raises.

* Crunches/Sit Ups - Crunches and sit ups are different type of exercises, but work the same muscle group which is the abdominals. Crunches are where you lift only your shoulders off the ground, and sit ups are where you raise your full body off while keeping your butt and feet planted. There are numerous exercises you can find and try which create a flat stomach rapidly!

Equipment for your Home

There is lots of home gym equipment accessible to you at reasonable prices, and not to mention you save cash in the long term! Dumbbells can be bought cheap because you only really need about 3-5 different weight sizes to get the workouts in you need. Kettlebells are similar to dumbbells, but add some variety. Multi-purpose benches are also useful and are not too expensive these days. They can be changed from flat, incline, and decline giving you all the benefits in one machine!

Always remember that as you are in your own house there may be times when you are alone and if injured no-one is about to know. Only exercise with weights that you are able to lift, and place the right amount of cardio stress that you know your body can handle. Lastly, please have fun with your workouts!
